Metal threads in a plastic print, done right: seven brass tips from M2 to M8 and a long adapter that screws onto a standard soldering iron. The extended tip heats the insert without touching the wall of the part, so the brass sinks in straight and the print keeps its shape.

These worked really well for my 3D print projects, like the variety
The adapter screws onto irons with a threaded tip holder; check that yours accepts a screw-in tip before ordering.
About 200 to 220 degrees Celsius for PLA and PETG, 240 for ABS; let the weight of the iron sink the insert.
