Questions at the counter
Sizes and steel
How do I know which diameter I need? Measure the old screw across the thread with calipers or match it to the holes in a kit label: 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 mm are M2 through M10. If the screw is from a North American door or bath fixture, it is probably SAE and our 25-size set screw kits carry those too.
Is 12.9 stronger than 8.8? Yes. 12.9 alloy steel is about 1,200 MPa tensile; 8.8 is about 800 MPa. We use 12.9 for socket-head screw and set screw kits and 8.8 black oxide for the flange bolt kit, where the flange spreads the load.
Will the stainless kits rust? 304 stainless steel resists rust in bathrooms, kitchens and outdoors without any coating. It is not meant for permanent salt-water immersion.
Cases and contents
Are the hex keys really included? In every screw, bolt and set screw kit except the 50-piece M8 stainless kit, which takes a standard 6 mm key. Tweezers come with the M2, M2.5 and M3 kits and the master kit.
What if a compartment is short? Count against the lid label and ask the partner store for a replacement through your order page; they settle it from the order record.
Buying
Where do I buy? Every button on this site opens the product's page on the partner store, where the current price and stock live. We keep the descriptions, the guides and the size tables here.
